Isa Granillo (Sioux Center, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his soccer career at Northwestern College. He will join the Raiders at the semester.
Granillo comes to Northwestern after an illustrious career at Sioux Center High School. Under head coach Dan Van Ruler, Granillo scored 30 career goals and assisted 20 others in three seasons, both program records for the Warriors. In 2019, he led Sioux Center to a third place finish at the state tournament with a 15-5 record. Granillo was an all-state and all-tournament team selection in 2019 and a three-time all-conference honoree.
“We continue to bolster our line-up with talented attacking players,” said Northwestern soccer coach Dan Swier. “We love it when top players from the area, like Isa, choose to further their careers at Northwestern. Isa’s winning mentality and gritty style will undoubtedly contribute to our future success.”
Granillo, the son of Jose and Elizabeth, plans to major in Translation and Interpretation at Northwestern.
When asked why he selected Northwestern, Granillo stated, “I chose Northwestern because it has always been a dream for me to grow and learn here while being a part of the amazing soccer program.”
