Hannah Van Maaren Earns Second Team All-American Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Hannah Van Maaren has been named a Second Team Competitive Cheer All-American, becoming the second athlete in program history to receive a national honor.

Van Maaren, a sophomore flyer and tumbler from Sheldon, is a two-time all-conference selection and has received her first All-American selection. She led the Raiders to their second consecutive GPAC title and helped her team to a sixth-place finish at the NAIA Championships.

Head coach Taylor Decker commented, “Hannah has been an instrumental part of our cheer team. Her work ethic and dedication to improving herself and her teammates is something I admire.”

All-Americans are determined by the national championship judges through a recorded submission, showcasing toe tuck, triple jump combination, jump combination, round off back handspring full twisting layout, and stunts.

Missouri Valley’s Cater McCourt was named the NAIA Competitive Cheer Athlete of the Year. Van Maaren was one of four GPAC athletes to receive All-American honors.
