Hawkeyes Hope For Lengthy Stay In Indianapolis

Iowa City, Iowa — Iowa coach Fran McCaffery says his team has packed for a month as it heads to Indianapolis.

The fifth ranked Hawkeyes open the Big Ten Tournament on Friday night and the entire NCAA Tournament will be played in Indy.

McCaffery says the Hawkeyes will be sequestered in their hotel during the entire stay.

Joe Wieskamp’s availability for this week is uncertain after he suffered an ankle injury in Sunday’s win over Wisconsin. McCaffery says a key part of the decision will be if Wieskamp can handle playing three games in three days.

If Wieskamp is unable to go freshman Tony Perkins will have a larger role.
