Sioux Center, Iowa — Tage Hulstein, a senior at Western Christian High School (Iowa), has announced his intention to attend Dordt and join the Defender track and cross country programs.
“I am excited to welcome Tage to our program. He has had an excellent high school career and a stellar senior season. As a three-time state medalist, Tage brings both talent and work ethic to our program and will fit in very well with the men in our distance crew. I look forward to working with him the next four years!” said Dordt cross country head coach and assistant track and field coach Nate Wolf.
Hulstein has run at four state cross country championships during his career and has finished sixth twice and third once. He has a personal best of 16:26 on a 5,000 meter cross country course and a 4:51 in the 1,600 meters in track and field. He’s won two conference titles in cross country and earned all-conference honors four times. Hulstein’s Western Christian team finished fourth at the state cross country meet in 2020 and was third in 2021. A versatile runner, Hulstein has run the 800, 1600 and 3200 in track.
“I chose Dordt because I know from many people around me that it is a great school. They have great academic programs and their track and cross country programs are amazing,” said Hulstein.
Tage is the son of Scott and Jodi Hulstein of Sioux Center, Iowa. He plans to study Business at Dordt.
