Hulstein to Run for Defenders

Dordt_Defenders logoTristan Hulstein, a senior at Western Christian High School, has announced his decision to attend Dordt College and join the Defender cross country and track programs.

Hulstein has earned all-conference four times in cross country and qualified for the state meet three times in cross country. He placed 10th at the state cross country meet and was a part of Wolfpack team that placed third this past season at Fort Dodge. He placed eighth at the state meet in the 3,200 meter and has personal bests of 4:30 in the 1,600 meters; 10:00 in the 3,200 and 16:29 on a 5,000 meter cross country course.

“We are excited to welcome Tristan into our program. He has shared individual and team success at Western Christian and those experiences will aid him as he transitions to college cross country. His impact will be felt on our team and across campus as he is a responsible and driven student athlete who will excel in both areas. We are pleased Tristan will be a Defender next Fall!” said Dordt College cross country coach Nate Wolf.

Tristan is the son of Scott and Jodi Hulstein of Sioux Center, Iowa. He plans to study Agri-Business at Dordt College.
