Iowa City, Iowa — Iowa baseball coach Rick Heller hopes the home field remains an advantage for the Hawkeyes as they get set to close out the home slate with a three game series against Illinois.
Dating back to 2019 the Hawkeyes have won six of their last eight conference series at home.
Heller says a good fan following helps and travel can be difficult for baseball teams.
Heller says an extra large group of seniors will be honored on Sunday.
With nine games remaining the Hawkeyes are tied for fourth and just two games out of third in the Big Ten race.
The Hawkeyes are 21-14.
