(KIWA Staff Photo)Iowa City, Iowa (RI) — The Iowa Hawkeyes have dropped to No. 20 in the latest AP Top 25 as they prepare for Friday night’s game at Washington.
Early mistakes proved costly as the Hawkeyes suffered their first loss of the season, falling 31-14 to Ohio State. A struggling offense was unable to keep pace with the Buckeyes.
That’s Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz.
Friday’s game will complete the first half of the season before the Hawkeyes head into a bye week.
Against Power Four opponents, Iowa’s rushing attack has been largely absent. The Hawkeyes managed just 39 rushing yards against Ohio State.
Washington enters the matchup 3-2 after a 25-21 loss at USC.
Friday’s game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Seattle. We’ll have coverage on FM 105.3.
