The Iowa men fumbled away the two seed in the Big Ten Tournament on Senior Day. Nebraska shot 58 percent and had 14 three pointers to stun the Hawkeyes 81-77.
Iowa finished 11-9 in the Big Ten.
That’s Iowa coach Fran McCaffery. Patrick McCaffery led the Hawkeyes with 23 points.
At crunch time the Hawkeyes went the final six minutes without a field goal.
The loss was a costly one. The Hawkeyes fall to the five seed in this week’s Big Ten Tournament in Chicago and open Thursday afternoon against the winner of the game between Ohio State and Wisconsin.
