Iowa will open the season on Saturday against Illinois State without head coach Kirk Ferentz. The veteran coach was suspended for the opener due to a recruiting violation. It will be the first time Ferentz has missed a game.
Ferentz will not be allowed to be at the stadium and expects to watch the game from home.
