Iowa State Football Coach Matt Campbell Talks About Lofty Expectations

Ames, Iowa — As the Iowa State football team looks ahead to spring drills the Cyclones will be dealing with national expectations the program has never experienced.

ISU is coming off a season that saw them play in the Big 12 Championship game and concluded with a victory over Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl. Campbell says expectations within the program have been lofty the past few seasons.

Campbell says the Cyclones are focused on what got them to this point.

Campbell feels confident he is building a consistent winner.

A boost for the Cyclones is a good chunk of the senior class took advantage of the COVID blanket waiver and decided to return next season.

Campbell says many of the senior made the decision based on football while others saw it as a chance to pursue a graduate degree.

Campbell says they will transition from offseason workouts to spring drills at the beginning of April.
