Iowa State Returns To Action Sunday Against Western Michigan

Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger is hopeful senior guard Caleb Grill will return to practice this week as the Cyclones prepare to host Western Michigan on Sunday.

Grill is averaging more than nine and a half points per game but missed last Sunday’s win over McNeese State with an illness.

Otzelberger says with a week between games they have spent more time on the offensive end.

Otzelberger says defense will remain the tone setter for the Cyclones.

Iowa State’s 77-40 win over McNeese State was a good bounce back from a 19-point loss at Iowa. Senior center Osun Osunniyiy

Osunniyiy is averaging just under nine points per game and still adjusting to expanded role on offense.

The Cyclones are 8-2.
