Iowa State vs Drake Preview

Iowa State coach Matt Campbell says the Cyclones are happy to be getting ready for a 12th game.

ISU will close the regular season at home against Drake, replacing the season opener against South Dakota State that was cancelled due to weather.

Campbell says playing Drake has added some interest in the game.

Campbell says he has been impressed with the Bulldog program under coach Rick Fox.

Campbell says while the circumstances surrounding this game are unusual they are not treating it any differently.

Drake football coach Rick Fox says the Bulldogs are all in for Saturday’s game at Iowa State. Drake is 7-3 and has not been together since a Monday team meeting following a 43-6 win at Moorhead State on November 17th.

It was at that meeting that the players were asked if they wanted to play the Cyclones if given the chance.

Fox says it was important to let the players decide if they wanted to accept the game.

Fox says the Bulldogs are well aware of the challenge before them.

For Drake’s senior it is a chance to play another game in a career they thought had ended. Defensive lineman Nathan Clayberg was named the Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Year.

Clayberg says the Bulldogs know they are a huge underdog.

Kick off is at 11:00 am at Jack Trice Stadium
