Iowa’s Epenesa Declares For Draft

Iowa Hawkeye Junior defensive end A.J. Epenesa has officially declared for the 2020 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-6 282-pounder finished his junior season with 49 tackles, 11.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and three pass break-ups. Seven of those sacks came in the final four games.

Epenesa is the second Hawkeye to declare for the NFL Draft alongside safety Geno Stone. Iowa fans are still awaiting the decision of offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs.

Epenesa finished his career with 26.5 sacks despite only starting 13 career games. The athletic phenom will likely be invited to the NFL Combine, which will take place between February 24 and March 2nd inside Lucas Oil Stadium. The 2020 NFL Draft is expected to be between April 23 and 25th in Paradise, Nevada.
