Vander Zee missed last year’s 16-13 Iowa State victory in Ames with a foot injury.
Iowa had 289 yards of rushing in a season opening win over Northern Illinois and Vander Zee says that will be a key against the Cyclones.
Vander Zee says it is difficult to scout ISU’s brand-new defense.
Iowa had better than 500 yards of offense last week, but Vander Zee says there is plenty of room for improvement in red zone and goal line offense.
