South Dakota State, ranked 10th in this week’s Stats Perform media poll and 13th by the Football Championship Subdivision coaches, enters the matchup with a 5-2 overall record and a 2-2 mark in the MVFC. The Jackrabbits are coming off a 26-17 Hobo Day loss to Northern Iowa on Oct. 23.
Youngstown State, meanwhile, has a 2-4 overall record and is 1-3 in the MVFC. The Penguins return to home action after dropping a 28-17 decision last week at Indiana State.
SDSU has won the last three meetings, including pulling out a 19-17 victory at Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium on March 13, 2021. Cole Frahm’s 29-yard field goal with 31 seconds remaining provided the winning margin.
