Jamestown Wins GPAC Volleyball Tournament

Sioux City, Iowa – Top seed Jamestown has won the Cypress Risk Management Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Volleyball Tournament Championship. The Jimmies defeated two seed Northwestern 3-0 (25-21,25-22, 25-21) to win the title at Harold Newman Arena. The 2020 GPAC Women’s Volleyball Tournament was moved to the spring of 2021 because of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Jamestown will receive the GPAC first automatic berth to the NAIA National Volleyball Championship Opening Round. Northwestern receives the second automatic berth to the NAIA National Volleyball Championship Opening Round. The GPAC receives two automatic berths for women’s volleyball.

The 2020 NAIA Volleyball National Championship, which is being played this spring, includes a field of 48 teams. All 48 teams will play in an opening round matches played on campus sites nationwide on April 17.

The opening round winners will play at the final site for a 24-team pool play NAIA National Championship April 27-May 1, 2021, in Sioux City at the Tyson Events Center.
