Jenness To Run Track For Northwestern

Emma Jenness of Spirit Lake has signed a letter of intent to continue her track and field career at Northwestern College next fall.

Jenness has had a standout career in multiple sports for Spirit Lake High School. A three-year letter winner in track and field heading into her final season this spring, Jenness qualified for state and was the conference champion in the 400m hurdles as a junior. She has personal bests of 17.1 in the 100m hurdles, 68.7 in the 400m hurdles and 61 in the 400m (split).

“Emma is a gifted athlete who is a talented hurdler and 400m runner,” commented Northwestern Head Coach Scott Bahrke. “She was a standout in multiple sports at Spirit Lake High School and we are excited to have her join our track and field team. Emma is a great teammate who loves to compete; she will have a positive impact both on our team and on our campus.”

Jenness is also a three-time all-conference selection in volleyball and two-time all-conference pick in softball. An honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society, Jenness plans to study Nursing and Spanish at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Greg and Jody.
