Kleinhesselink, Boerhave Earn GPAC Honorable Mention Honors

(Sioux City, Iowa) – Jay Wolfe of Briar Cliff has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Year and headlines the GPAC Basketball All-Conference Teams for 2018-19. Wolfe, a senior, averaged 22.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for the Chargers who finished the regular season with a record of 20-8 overall and 14-6 in conference play.

Other GPAC basketball honorees for 2018-19 include: Defensive Player-of-the-Year Tyler Borchers of Morningside; Freshman-of-the-Year Carter Kent of Concordia; and the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year Jim Sykes of Morningside. The GPAC Basketball honors are selected by the league’s 11 head coaches.

Briar Cliff’s Jaden Kleinhesselink and Kyle Boerhave earned honorable mention.

Northwestern’s Trent Hillbrands earned first team honors, while teammate Parker Mulder earned 2nd team honors. Jay Small and Craig Sterk earned honorable mention.

Dordt’s Garrett Franken is on the second team, while Chad Barkema, Alec Henrickson, Zach Bussard were all honorable mention.
