Kooper Ebel Picks Iowa State

Harley Melvin Sanborn standout Kooper Ebel has committed to the Iowa Cyclone football program. In a Monday afternoon tweet Ebel made his intentions known tweeting “All glory to god !! #committed.

The Cyclones were the first power five offer for the Hawks linebacker and recently hosted Ebel on an official visit. He had also received Big 10 scholarship offers from Iowa and Nebraska along with the Cyclone offer.

Ebel has played both sides of the ball for Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, but is projected at linebacker with the Cyclones. Ebel is 6-3 and 200 pounds, and is rated a top 100 player in the country at the “athlete” position. Ebel chose Iowa State over Northern Iowa, Vanderbilt, Iowa and Nebraska.

In his junior season he had 82 tackles including 61 solos, 2 fumble recoveries and 4 interceptions.
