Lansing Kee Tops No. 3 Remsen St. Mary’s In 1A Semifinal

Carroll, Iowa — Lansing Kee scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to beat third ranked Remsen St. Mary’s 5-3 in the 1A semifinals at the state baseball tournament in Carroll.

The Kee Hawks overcame an early 2-0 deficit and tied the game in the top of the seventh.

That’s Kee High coach Jim Mauss who will have less than 24 hours to get his team ready for the 1A title game.

It was a game that featured two of the state’s most successful programs.

Remsen St. Mary’s coach Dean Harpenau says the Hawks stranded too many runners.

The Hawks finish the season with a record of 27-4.

The Hawks were making their sixth straight appearance at the state tournament and Harpenau expects to have another strong team next season.
