Sheldon Iowa — Central Lyon George Little Rock put together a dominating performance against Sheldon at Orab Field as they rolled to a 55-0 win Friday night.
The Lions went on 4th down on their first possession with Zach Lutmer going 52 yards on a quarter back draw for the first points of the game. Mathew Dieren added the extra point and the Lions were up 7-0.
On their next possession it was Lyle Moore with a 5 yard run. the 2 point attempt was no good and the lead was 13-0 with 5:21 left in the first quarter.
A pair of scores made it 27-0 at the end of the first quarter. The first came on a 42 yard strike from Lutmer to Cooper Spiess. The second was an 11 yard run by Graham Eben. Dieren hit both extra points.
In the second quarter it was Moore on a 1 yard run to make it 34-0 after the extra point.
On the Orabs next possession Lutmer picked off a pass and went 35 yards for the score. Dieren again converted the extra point and it was 41-0 with 8:14 left in the half.
Lutmer later scored on a 1 yard run and with Dieren’s extra point it was 48-0 at halftime.
The final score came with 9:50 left to play as Dorian Johnson scored from a yard out. Mathew Dieren hit his 7th extra point of the game as the sophomore remained perfect on the year going 29-of-29 on PATs for the season.
With the win the Lions are 4-3 on the year and 3-2 in the district. Sheldon falls to 3-4 on the season and 2-3 in district play.
Next Friday Sheldon wraps up the regular season at Unity Christian while Central Lyon George Little Rock will be host to Okoboji.
