Lions Down Wolfpack In Girls Regional Matchup

Rock Rapids, Iowa — The Central Lyon girls advanced in the Class 2A Region 1 bracket with a win over Western Christian 67-44 Tuesday night in Rock Rapids.

Western was in front early but the Lions jumped in front late in the opening frame to take a 14-10 lead after one. Central Lyon then took control of the game. It was 29-16 at the half, 49-30 after three and Central Lyon went on to win 67-44.

The Lions got a game high 17 points from Addison Klosterbuer, 14 points from Regan Van Wyhe, 12 from Desta Hoogendoorn, and 10 points from Afton Schlumbohm. Western got a team high 13 points from Stella Winterfeld and 12 points from Lydia Van Kley.

Western ends their season at 9-14 and Central Lyon improves to 20-2. Up next for the Lions is another home game against Boyden-Hull Friday night in Rock Rapids.
