Men’s GPAC Spring Golf Championship Tee’s Off Monday & Tuesday At Dakota Dunes

Sioux City, Iowa — The final 36 holes of the 2020-21 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Golf Championships, presented by Cypress Risk Management, are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday (April 26 & 27) at the Dakota Dunes Country Club in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. Play will begin at 10 AM on Monday with golfers going off at hole one and ten. Tuesday play will begin at 9am.

After the rounds played in the spring at the Indian Creek in Elkhorn, Nebraska, Morningside, the defending GPAC champion, leads the field at 586 for the tournament (+10). The Mustangs shot a 291 in round two after a round of 295 in round one. Doane is in second with a 607 (303-304) and Northwestern is third with a 610 (307-303). Midland and Dordt round out the top five in the team standings.

Individually, Jonny Douglas from Morningside is the leader after the fall rounds with a 139. He carded a 72 and 67 at Indian Creek. Connor Schubring from Doane is in second with 142 (70-72), while Sam Storey from Morningside is third at 145 (73-72).

The GPAC Men’s Golf Champion receives an automatic berth in the NAIA Men’s National Golf Championship in Silvis, Illinois, at the TPC Deere Run. The NAIA National Men’s Golf Championships are set for May 18-21, 2021. The GPAC medalist (if not on the qualifying team) also qualifies for the NAIA Championships.
