Morningside Coach Steve Ryan Previews The Season

Sioux City, Iowa — Morningside coach Steve Ryan says they will worry about next spring, if they get there.

The Mustangs are the two-time defending national champions and will play a conference-only schedule this fall. The NAIA moved the start of the national playoffs to April. The championship game is set for May 10th.

Ryan says the Mustangs are focusing on this fall.

Ryan expects quarterback Joe Dolincheck to take an even bigger leadership role this season. As a sophomore, Dolincheck passed for 49 touchdowns and more than 43 hundred yards.

Ryan is glad the Great Plains Athletic Conference is offering a fall season and feels they will be able to play it.

The Mustangs open up the season against Northwestern College on September 12th
