Northwest Iowa — George Little Rock opens State Tournament play on Monday Morning with an 11:15 quarterfinal game. The Mustangs will take a 19-6 record and the tourney’s number 4 seed against Don Bosco the number 5 seed. The Dons come in at 22-3. The Mustangs have two players averaging double figures. Lucas Nagel averages 12.6 per game with Caleb Terhark at 10.1 per game. Don Bosco has three players averaging double figures led by Sean McFadden with 15.3 per game. Zach Nie hits for 14.8 per game with Jack Kelley averaging 14.3 points per game. As a team the Dons are 37.3 percent on three point shots led by Nie at 44.3 percent hitting 74-of-167 attempts. Also as a team Don Bosco has hit 71.8 percent at the free throw line.
The rebounding leader is McFadden with 166 followed by Clayton Weber with 119 and Kendall Becker with 108 boards. The assist leader is Zach Huff with 127. The steals leader is McFadden with 42. He’s also the blocked shot leader with 29.
