The biggest game in the Great Plains Athletic Conference takes place in week one as NAIA top ranked Morningside hosts number three Northwestern Saturday night.
Morningside won both games last season en route to the national championship and Northwestern coach Matt McCarty says his team is ready for a game.
McCarty says they can’t put too much emphasis on this first game.
McCarty says the outcome of this game is typically decided by mistakes.
Morningside has won three of the last four national championships and coach Steve Ryan says there are positives to playing a game of this magnitude out of the gate.
Ryan would not be surprised if this is a high scoring affair.
