No. 12 Iowa State beats Cincinnati at the Big 12 Tournament

Kansas City, Missouri – Iowa State pulled away late to beat Cincinnati at the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.

John Walters on the Cyclone Network. The 12th-ranked Cyclones never trailed in a 76-56 victory. ISU closed the game on an 11-0 run.

That’s Cyclone coach T.J. Otzelberger. ISU dominated the paint. Joshua Jefferson scored Jefferson scored 19 points and Dishon Jackson had 10 points and 15 rebounds.

There are a couple of injury concerns. Keshon Gilbert did not play in the second half as he tries to return from a muscle strain. He played 11 minutes in the opening half.

Junior guard Tamin Lipsey finished with 16 points but went to the locker room late with an injury.

The Cyclones play fourth seeded BYU in Thursday’s opening game. The 17th ranked Cougars beat ISU in double overtime in Ames.
