No. 12 Iowa State men play Cincinnati Wednesday at the Big 12 Tournament

Kansas City, Missouri (RI) – Iowa State coach T.J. Otzelberger says senior guard Keshon Gilbert could return to the lineup Wednesday when the 12th-ranked Cyclones open the Big 12 Tournament against Cincinnati.

Gilbert missed Saturday’s win at Kansas State with a muscle strain, but returned to practice on Monday.

The Cyclones have won this tournament five times in the last 10 years and they are the defending champs.

Otzelberger says tournaments like the Maui Invitational are good preparation for this week.

As the fifth seed it will take four wins in four days to win the tournament.

Cincinnati advanced with a an 87-68 victory over Oklahoma State this afternoon. The Cyclones beat the Bearcats 81-70 in Ames nearly a month ago.

Cyclone All Big-12 guard Curtis Jones is looking forward to the postseason.
