Iowa City, Iowa (RI) — Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says tight end D.J. Vonnahme will likely miss Saturday’s game against Northern Iowa after suffering an undisclosed injury in the Hawkeyes’ 16-13 win over Iowa State.

Vonnahme has six catches through the first two games.

Running back Kamari Moulton is questionable after suffering an injury against the Cyclones. Quarterback Hank Brown went the distance last week, and Ferentz says there’s a chance Jeremy Hecklinski could also see action against the Panthers.

Iowa won despite rushing for only 93 yards, and Ferentz says opponents will continue to try to limit the ground game.

Ferentz says even in the age of NIL and the transfer portal, FCS opponents remain dangerous. Five FCS teams have already posted wins over FBS programs this season.

Pregame begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, with kickoff set for 3 p.m. We’ll have full coverage on FM 105.3.
