Northern Iowa Breaks Ground On New Football Practice Facility

Cedar Falls, Iowa — UNI broke ground on a new outdoor football practice facility. It is part of a four million upgrade to Panther football facilities.

The facility will include an oversized turf field, lighting and fencing. The new field is funded by a gift from Iowa natives Doug and Ann Goschke and is on the site of the current outdoor practice field.

That’s Panther coach Mark Farley who says the new facility will help alleviate scheduling conflicts with the UNI-Dome.

Farley says it will provide a place to practice year round and in all conditions.

Farley says it will allow the Panthers to have a consistent practice schedule.

A new team meeting room is also under construction.
