Cedar Falls, Iowa — UNI coach Mark Farley says the Panthers new outdoor practice facility is already paying dividends.
The Panthers are 5-3 and ranked 13th in the latest Stats FCS top 25 and Farley says practicing outside was a major factor in their win at South Dakota State two weeks ago.
The Panthers will play outside again on Saturday when they visit Illinois State.
Farley says Illinois State is always a tough matchup with its odd front on defense.
Farley says quarterback Theo Day still needs to do a better job of limiting turnovers but he is making the plays needed to win big games.
Farley says Day’s ability to scramble and extend plays frustrates defenses.
