Northern Iowa Coach Mark Farley Blames Himself For Missed Field Goal

Cedar Falls, Iowa — Northern Iowa football coach Mark Farley says he is responsible for a missed field goal that would have won last week’s game at Southern Illinois. All-Conference kicker Matthew Cook missed a 30-yard field goal in the waning seconds of UNI’s 17-16 loss. Because the UNI-Dome was not available last week the Panthers had to find alternative practice locations and Farley says they did not get enough special teams work.

Farley says when the dome is not available he needs to do a better job of finding a place they can kick.

Farley says they need to find a way to get Cook more consistent practice opportunity.

Now 10th in the STATS FCS poll the Panthers are at home Saturday to host Missouri State.
