Seward, Nebraska — Northwestern College women’s track and field athletes turned in a handful of top 10 finishes and the men’s 4×100 relay set a school record and bettered its NAIA auto mark at the Concordia Twilight Invite held Friday at Bulldogs Stadium in Seward, Neb.
Caitlin Ostbye completed her 2021 season with a second and third place finish in the 100m and 200m respectively. Becca Bindert placed among the top 10 in the discus and shot put and Allison Birks had a pair of top 10 showings in the 100m hurdles and long jump while placing 14th in the high jump in her final tune-up prior to competing in the heptathlon at the NAIA Outdoor Championships. Lindsey Craig was the final competitor for NWC, finishing 10th in the high jump.
The team of Daniel Strand, Cody Post, Braden Jahn and Jake Davies won the 4×100 relay in a school-record time of 41.31 and once again met the NAIA auto standard for the upcoming NAIA Outdoor Championships. They currently have the seventh fastest time heading into the national meet.
Post later finished fourth in the 100m, Aaron Shepard sixth in the high jump and the 4×400 relay placed seventh and just missed the provisional qualifying mark.
