Kansas City, Missouri — The Northwestern College women’s basketball team climbed into this week’s NAIA Coaches’ poll released Wednesdasy by the national office.
Winners of six straight and 11 of its last 13 games, Northwestern is receiving votes, totaling 13 points in the Jan. 27 poll. They are in third place in the current GPAC standings with an 11-5 record, 11-8 overall.
Northwestern is one of three teams from the GPAC in this week’s edition of the coaches’ poll, joining Morningside (9) and Concordia (25). Campbellsville (Ky.) holds down the top spot once again, earning 14 of the 21 possible first place votes, with a perfect 9-0 record. Wayland Baptist (Texas) is second, followed by Westmont (Calif.), Thomas More (Ky.) and Marian (Ind.).
