Orange City, Iowa — The Northwestern College football team faces a familiar opponent Saturday in the opening round of the NAIA playoffs when the Red Raiders host Dickinson State.
These teams met in the opening round of the playoffs in 2018 and Dickinson State claimed a 14-6 win.
That’s Red Raider coach Matt McCarty who says the Blue Hawks will be a challenge.
Northwestern finished the fall season 8-1 and McCarty says this has the feel of a season opener.
Something has to give in this one. The Northwestern offense averages more than 40 pints per game and goes up against a Dickinson State defense that allowed more than 20 points only twice during the regular season.
McCarty says limiting mistakes is a must in the playoffs.
