The Northwestern College men’s basketball team returns to competition this week with a couple of home games, beginning with a non-conference match-up against Presentation on Wednesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7pm.
Idle since its 82-79 win against Bellevue on Dec. 19, Northwestern is 9-4 heading into its final non-conference game of the regular season. Presentation currently holds a 3-9 record heading into Wednesday night.
Northwestern is 6-0 all-time against the Saints dating back to the first match-up played during the 1995-96 season. The Raiders have scored 100+ points in four of the six games, including a 103-52 victory played earlier this season in Aberdeen, S.D.
Last Time against Presentation, Northwestern raced out to a 52-21 halftime lead and rolled to a 103-52 win against Presentation on Nov. 28. The Raiders shot nearly 60% for the game, led by Alex Van Kalsbeek (24pts, 8 rebounds) and Trent Hilbrands (21pts, 8 rebounds). Head Coach Kris Korver’s squad held a huge edge on the boards, 51-27.
Presentation was led by Qaiyoom Olanlege with 14 points and eight rebounds.
