NWC Women’s Basketball Moves Up To Ninth in Coaches’ Poll

Northwestern College moved up one spot in this week’s edition of the NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball coaches’ poll released Tuesday.


Owning an 18-6 overall record and winning 10 of their last 11 games, the Red Raiders move up to ninth in the Feb.6 edition of the poll. They join four other team from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) in the top 25; Concordia (2), Dakota Wesleyan (T10), Hastings (12) and Morningside (15). This is the highest ranking for the Red Raiders since the 2013-14 season. 

Southeastern (Fla.) owns the top spot in the coaches’ poll for the first time in program history and is the lone unbeaten team remaining in the Division II ranks, owning a 23-0 record. They received 11 of the 12 first place votes. Former No.1 Concordia slipped to second, followed by College of the Ozarks (Mo.), Saint Xavier (Ill.) and Marian (Ind.).
