NWC Women’s Basketball Receives Votes In Final Poll

Orange City, Iowa — The Northwestern College women’s basketball team received votes in the final regular season edition of the NAIA Coaches’ poll released Wednesday by the national office.

Northwestern accounted for 22 points in the Feb.24 poll, seventh most among teams receiving votes. They are one of three teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) recognized in the final poll, joining Morningside (7th) and Concordia (17th).

The top eight spots remained the same from the last poll released on Feb. 10, led by No.1 Thomas More (Ky.) who received 14 first place votes. Wayland Baptist (Texas) is second, earning four first place votes, followed by Cambellsville (Ky.), Westmont (Calif.) and Marian (Ind.).

Northwestern plays host to Midland in a GPAC Quarterfinal this evening, Feb. 24, at 6pm. The Raiders finished third in the GPAC regular season with a 16-6 record, 16-9 overall, and are the No.3 seed in the eight team conference tournament.
