NWC Wrestling Team Receives Votes in Coaches’ Poll

Kansas City, Missouri — The Northwestern College wrestling team continues to be recognized in the latest installment of the NAIA Coaches’ poll released Friday night, Feb.5 by the national office.

Northwestern totaled nine points and is one of several team receiving votes in this week’s coaches poll. They are one of eight teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) in the poll, joining Doane (7), Morningside (14), Briar Cliff (RV), Concordia (RV), Hastings (RV), Midland (RV) and Dakota Wesleyan (RV).

Grand View, the defending national champion, continues to be the NAIA’s top ranked team, totaling 215 points. Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) is second with 155, followed by Life (Ga.), Reinhardt (Ga.) and Missouri Valley. 

Northwestern finished the regular season with a 7-5 dual record, going 3-5 in the GPAC. They will next compete at the GPAC Championships on Feb. 19-20 in Fremont, Neb.
