Orab Boys Win Central Lyon Relays, Orab Girls Second to Sioux Center

track and field 1Rock Rapids Iowa — The Sheldon Orab boys track team took first place at the Central Lyon Relays on Tuesday. Sioux Center won the girls competition with Sheldon second in the team totals.

First place finishes for the Orab boys came in the long jump with Brandon Winkel going 19-1. Mason Maurer of West Lyon was second at 18-6.5. In the high jump Tyler Lode went 6-5. Caleb Terhark of G-LR was second at 6-0. Jaden Kleinhesselink won the 800 meters in a time of 2:05.79. Ty Van Es of Sioux Center was second in 2:06.15. The Sheldon 4 x 800 relay team was first with a time of 8:32.81. G-LR was second at 8:34.40.

First place finishes for the Orab girls came in the long jump with Ashlyn Albrecht going 15-10. Natalee Greenfield of Sioux Center was second at 15-2. Kacy Kamphoff won the 400 meters in 1:03.81. Kiley Metzger of Central Lyon was second in 1:09.24. McKenzie Wagner won the 1500 meters in 5:48.93. Lauren Jurrens of G-LR was second in 5:53.62. Bryn Groff finished first in the 100 meter hurdles in 16.39. Alyssa Mulder of Sioux Center was second at 16.85. In the relays Sheldon won the 4 x 100 in 53.86 followed by Central Lyon in 54.12. The shuttle hurdle went to Sheldon in 1:10.43 followed by Sioux Center in 1:13.43.
