Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Orabs were able to come away with 1-0 conference win over Okoboji in Sheldon Wednesday night.
After three scoreless innings, the Orabs were able to break the drought when Maliah Kleinhesselink doubled to left field, advanced on a Sami Noteboom single, and came in to score on the Keely Simonsen sacrifice bunt and give the Orabs a 1-0 lead that would hold throughout the rest of the contest.
Emma Weber got the win the for the Orabs. Weber pitched all seven innings, and gave up just four hits, walked one, and struck out three.
Shania Christopherson got the loss for the Pioneers. She gave up one earned on 6 hits, and struck out nine.
Sheldon improves to 3-12 on the year and 3-7 in the Siouxland. Okoboji falls to 6-12 on the season and 2-9 in the conference.
Up next for both teams is the Okoboji tournament on Saturday.
