The third ranked Sheldon Orab Volleyball Team is State Tournament bound following a 3-1 win over Forest City for the 3A Region 2 title. The region final was hosted by Estherville Lincoln Central Tuesday night.
The set scores were 25-12, 20-25, 25-15 and 25-16. Orab Head Coach Heather Keizer talked about the importance of winning the first set.
After a 20-25 setback in set two it became of best of three. The Orabs took the next two sets and the match. Keizer felt there were two turning points.
Winning a region title and advancing to state has been a work in progress.
Teams earn State Tournament trips with hard work. The Orabs are no different.
The Class 3A quarterfinals are set for 10:00 am and noon on Tuesday November 2nd at the Alliant Energy Power House in Cedar Rapids. Sheldon (27-5) is the three seed in Class 3A and will take on 6th Seed Sergeant Bluff-Luton (30-6) on Tuesday, November 2nd at 12-noon.
