Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon ran their record to 9-0 with a 4-2 win over MOC Floyd Valley Monday night in Sheldon.
The Orabs opened the scoring in the second inning as Payton Lode led off the inning with a solo shot to left field.
MOC Floyd Valley answered with a run in the top of the third as Makenna Cleveringa reached on a walk and later scored on an rbi single to left by Carlin Smith to tie it at 1-1.
Sheldon took the lead when Emma Barwick doubled to center and then scored on a ground ball to right by Lode for her second rbi of the night to make it 2-1 Orabs.
The Dutch tied it in the to of the 4th as Claire Yaw dropped a bunt single and later came in from second on a single to left by Lili Fleming.
Sheldon put two more on the board in the 5th as Barwick was hit by a pitch and Tori Elgersma doubled. Both scored on a drive to left by Maliah Kleinhesselink to make the final score 4-2.
Kourtney Dekker went 7 innings for the win giving up 2 runs on 4 hits. She walked 3 and struck out 5. Carlin Smith took the loss going 6 innings scattering 8 hits. She gave up 4 runs walked 5 and struck out 2.
With the win Sheldon is 9-0 on the season and 4-0 in the conference. MOC Floyd Valley is 7-5 for the year and 2-3 in the Siouxland. Both teams are off until Wednesday when the Orabs travel to Sioux Center. MOC Floyd Valley will host BHRV.
