Orabs Sweep G-LR At Home Tuesday Night

Sheldon hosted George Little Rock Tuesday night and posted a pair of wins. The Orabs took the girls game 58-34 and the boys contest 57-45.

Sheldon opened with a 17-6 first quarter led and never trailed. At the half it was 32-16 and 48-27 at the end of the third quarter. The Orabs got the win 58-34.

Claire Johnson led all scorers with 14 in the contest followed by Maliah Kleinhesselink with 12. The Mustangs were led by Emersyn Netten with 9 points followed by Kally Modder with 7.

With the win Sheldon is 2-4 on the season and 1-3 in the conference. The Mustangs are 0-4 to start the year with all conference games so far.

In the boys game Sheldon opened on a 9-0 run before the Mustangs closed to 14-6 at the end of the first quarter. Sheldon was up 24-15 at the half and remained in control the rest of the way leading 42-32 at the end of three and going on to win 57-45.

Sheldon got a game high 23 from Blake Radke who continued to hit from deep with 6 three point buckets on the night. Shane Brouwer joined him in double figures with 18 all coming inside the paint. In a great one on one matchup Brouwer was matched by Drew Denekas who led the Mustangs with 18 of his own also coming in the paint. Matt Helkenn hit a trio of threes as part of an 11 point night.

With the win the Orabs are even at 2-2 on the year and 2-1 in the conference. The Mustangs are  0-3 with all conference games on their schedule so far, Up next for the Orabs will be a trip out of the conference to play in Spirit Lake on Thursday. G-LR returns to action on Friday at Okoboji.
