Sibley Iowa — The Sheldon Orabs traveled to Sibley on Friday night and returned home with a 1-0 win over the Generals.
The games only run came in the top of the third inning. Brennan Radke singled and then stole second base. With two outs the Orabs ran a hit and run as Tyler Lode singled up the middle for the games only rbi as Radke scored from second on the play.
The rest of the game was a pitchers dual. After giving up the only run of the contest Generals starter Carter Norgaard gave way to Trevor Doeden to start the fourth inning. Norgaard gave up just 2 hits while striking out 2 and walking three. Doeden threw shut out relief over the final four innings. He stuck out 3 walked 1 and gave up just 1 hit the rest of the way.
For Sheldon Radke was chased after giving up a single to the left side of the infield to open the home half of the 6th inning. Luke Van Beek walked a pair of batters wrapped around a strike out to load the bases. Van Beek would strike out the the next 2 batters to get out of the jam.
Radke went the first 5 innings. He gave up 2 hits and struck out 4. Van Beek threw 2 hitless innings and struck out 3.
With the win Sheldon moves to 2-7 on the year and 2-3 in the conference. Sibley Ocheyedan is 1-6 for the year and 0-5 in the Siouxland. Both teams return to action with home games on Monday. Sheldon will host Central Lyon while Sibley Ocheyedan plays host to Okoboji.
