Paullina Iowa — Sheldon evened their record at 1-1 on the young season with a 21-0 non-district win over South O’Brien Friday night.
All of the scoring came in the first half as Sheldon scored on a 70 yard first quarter drive. Quarterback Kaleb Ackerman went in from 5 yards out. Pedro Aragon added the extra point and Sheldon led 7-0 with 1:18 left in the first quarter.
A 1 yard touchdown run by Ackerman capped an 89 yard drive with 5:14 left in the second quarter. The point after was no good and the Orab lead was 13-0.
A fumble recovery at the Orab 35 yard line ended in a 65 yard drive as Ackerman found Tye Sudbeck for an 18 yard score. Cason Johannes scored on a jet sweep for the 2-point conversion and the Orabs were up 21-0 with :34 seconds left in the half. With a scoreless second half 21-0 would be the final score.
With the win Sheldon goes to 1-1 on the year while South O’Brien is 0-2. The Orabs will be at Sioux Center Friday night. The Wolverines travel to Hartley Melvin Sanborn.
