Raiders Remain Ranked No. 21 In NAIA Week 6 Coaches’ Soccer Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Northwestern College men’s soccer team (11-1-1, 7-0 GPAC) remains ranked No. 21 in this week’s National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) coaches’ poll, the national office announced this morning.

Northwestern received 158 points in this poll, two points ahead of No. 22-ranked Hope International (Calif.) (9-1, 1-1 GSAC). The Raiders sit 31 points behind cracking the top-20, as No. 20-ranked McPherson (Kan.) (9-3, 6-1 KCAC) received 189 points.

The newest rankings are coming off the news that the Raiders sept the weekly Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) men’s soccer honors as Marcel Lengert (So., Siegen, Germany/Johann Moritz Gymnasium) garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors and Stan van den Beld (Fr., Voohout, Netherlands/rijnlands Lyceum Sassenheim) earned Offensive Player of the Week accolades.

The Raiders are again the only GPAC team to be featured in this installment of the NAIA coaches’ poll.

The Raiders travel to Sioux Center Wednesday evening to face the Dordt University Defenders (2-9-2, 1-5 GPAC) in the battle for Sioux County. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. following the women’s match.
