Shelby Van Den Berg Signs With Northwestern

VanDenBerg2Orange City, Iowa — Shelby Van Den Berg (Sioux Center, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College next year.

Van Den Berg is a 5’10” right-side hitter who played three years for Sioux Center High School. Van Den Berg totaled 81 kills, 55 blocks and 75 assists, helping her team to a state tournament bid and a 31-9 overall record. She also played for a state qualifier as a sophomore. Van Den Berg earned both academic all-state and academic all-conference honors as a senior and plans to major in biology at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Brent and Shelley.

“Shelby comes to us after being part of a state tournament team this past season,” commented head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “Shelby brings a strong work ethic along with a competitive mindset that will be contagious within our program. We are excited that Shelby has decided to continue her volleyball career and education at Northwestern College.”
