Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon Orabs were able to take both games against the Sibley-Ocheyedan Generals Tuesday night at the O-Rena. The girls game went to Sheldon 70-35, and the boys game went to the Orabs 81-35.
The Generals started the girls contest on an 8-0 run, but Sheldon responded with an 8-0 run of their own, and after one the game was tied 8-8. Sheldon then held Sibley-Ocheyedan to five second quarter points, and went on a 15-0 run. Heading into the half the Orabs led 27-13. After three, Sheldon extended their lead to 50-30, and went on to win 70-35.
Sheldon got a game high twenty-two points from Brooklyn Grady, Emily Meyer added ten points. The Generals got a team high eleven from Megan Grimes, and Kelli Greenfield added ten points.
The Orabs improve to 4-15 overall, and 3-13 in the Siouxland. The Generals fall to 2-16 on the year, and 1-15 in the conference.
The Orab boys started off the game on a 10-0 run, and after one led 20-8. Jaden Kleinhesselink of the Orabs had thirteen first quarter points. Heading into the half, Sheldon’s lead was 38-14. After three the score was 62-24 Sheldon, and the Orabs went on to win 81-35.
Sheldon got a game high nineteen points from Kleinhesselink. Ryan Van Marel added twelve, and Kyle Boerhave had ten points. The Generals got a team high nine points from Grant Brouwer.
Sheldon improves to 16-2 on the season, and 14-2 in the Siouxland. Sibley-Ocheyedan falls to 7-10 overall, and 5-10 in conference play.
Up next for the Orabs is a road trip to take on George-Little Rock Friday night. Sibley-Ocheyedan travels to Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn on Thursday night.
