Sioux Center Girls Down Sheldon

Sheldon Iowa — Sioux Center led at all the breaks as they downed Sheldon 57-41 at the O-rena Tuesday night. It was the season opener for both girls basketball teams.

Sioux Center led at all the breaks. They were up 15-9 at the end of the first quarter. Sheldon closed to within one at halftime 25-24. The Warriors led 41-34 at the end of the third quarter as they went on to win it 57-41.

Sioux Center got a game high 17 points from Hope Arends. Jacie Vander Waal hit for a dozen. Sheldon was led by Raegan Freeman with 10 points. Brooklyn Grady was just outside double figures with 9.

Up next for Sheldon will be a trip to Rock Valley for another girls only matchup on Tuesday the 27th. The Warriors will be at Okoboji on the 27th for their first boys/girls doubleheader of the season.

The Orab boys will play Heelan in a Hall of Pride Game on Saturday the 24th with tip off set for 3:00 pm at the High School in Sheldon.
